Mothering OUrselves: an offering for self-nurturing

Mothering Ourselves: An afternoon for self-nurturing through rest, reflection, ritual, movement, meditation and creativity

We often speak of connecting with our inner child—but how often do we turn toward our inner mother?

The inner mother:
the quiet wisdom that arises when we are still enough to listen,
the fount of love that stirs when we prepare something nourishing to eat,
the steady rock of resilience we rest upon when we are weary…

Together, we’ll explore and reimagine the meaning, memories, and traditions of mothering through practices rooted in body, breath, storytelling, mindfulness, movement, and Mother Nature.

We'll tune in to the voice of our inner mother—our innate instinct to care—with the support of cacao shared in ceremony.

All are welcome—across all beliefs, backgrounds, and genders.
This reflection on the maternal is for everyone. After all, we all care for ourselves and others, in ways seen and unseen.

But little by little,

as you left their voices behind,

the stars began to burn

through the sheets of clouds,

and there was a new voice

which you slowly

recognized as your own,

that kept you company

as you strode deeper and deeper

into the world,

determined to do

the only thing you could do—

determined to save

the only life you could save.
